The awesome author Eri Nelson, being interviewed @KevinSwarbrick 'Deliciously Scandalous Blog Tour'

First I would like to thank the readers for enjoying this, 'Deliciously Scandalous Blog Tour'. Here is a little recap what this tour is all about... I wanted them to be different and unique, I wanted to do an interview that puts the authors mind to the test, I also wanted to show the reader how great their creative minds are.

I want these interviews to be funny, sexy and just basically kept real, I don’t want the author holding back thinking ‘Should I write this?’ The whole idea of these interviews is to take the authors mind in a whole new direction and to also give the reader a taste of the authors personality. I have many great authors lined up to take this challenge and to put their minds to the test. I know you agree by reading these post that the authors have been fantastic, its a  pleasure and a honour to have them on this tour.

My next guest is the awesome author Eri Nelson who is just running a little late, but Eri did warn me this might happen. I has left this introduction by Eri for you to read, I just hope she arrives here soon! Here goes and fingers crossed.....

Eri Nelson is a nontraditional indie author who manages all areas of her fiction, fantasy, paranormal, action, adventure and sometimes-erotic writing.

Eri handles all the groundwork of her books, even the editing. Because of this, Eri strives to improve her abilities along with trying to explain to readers her far from traditional sentence structures.

However, she will openly admit that typos follow her. Join Erin and her shadowy side of writing as she takes you along to explore new desire hunger filled worlds where your mind can share in the heat of the read.

Hey good to see you, I was just saying; very nice bio indeed Eri and welcome to my tour :)
I wouldn't worry about a typos, for me it's what the story contains and not on a comma being out,
and so on  ;) I hope you have some fun on this tour. Let's see how you get on with the questions; I
know you are a very busy lady and I don't want to keep you too long.

Sometimes in life we all want more than what we have, but if you had one wish to have anything or anyone, what would that wish be and why?

Wishes, wow...  I often spout off “I wish”. I guess it is easy to do so for there are no consequences for doing so. However, when those wishes come closer to reality I am always looking for the downside.  (lol)

I guess in the darkness of night and when I have no fears of being overheard it would be that wine never runs out and cigars can be easily found. (lol) Because you know I am far being any role model. (wicked smile)

I would like you to make a short story up using no more than 500 words containing every one of these 14 key words; Leg, Truck, Cat,  Cup, Window, Dog poo, Eyes, Sex, Shoe, Lamp, Ring, Poem, Spoon, DM!

It ached, wretchedly so. His leg would never be same and he knew as he acted there would be consequences. However, as the truck was beginning to pull away with her inside he had no choice. Damn their fight and her silly need to possess a cat, she was his and he could never let that just drive away. Perhaps his cup would never be full of every whim he felt that should be but at least he knew that it would never be totally empty as long as he had her.

As the battered vehicle’s window roll down two things struck him hard. Her eyes expressing volumes to just hitting him and the sour smell of dog poo emanating from the truck’s confines. It would seem that he and she alone were not the only ones shocked to what had just happen. Apparently the dog who dropped his favourite shoe to the floor boards had expressed his surprise as well.

With smells failing away to the moment he stood staring with memories of their passion and the sex that had fallen aside to their fast harsh spoken words. They acted so quickly that a lamp had been broken, a ring was tossed aside, and a poem that had once been written with love’s quick hand was thrown aside. He had expected her to spoon to his words not for it all to end as it had...

You did great with the story Eri, you used all the word's other than DM. You never got the question wrong because, DM is an abbreviation and not a word. Even using the 13 words you did pass the test with flying colours. I loved the story.

When I first started writing, I had a lot of negative people around me, I know I  had to lose that energy in order to continue writing and fulfilling what others thought I couldn't do. Did you ever experience any of this when you first started writing or were you lucky enough to have the right support around you?

My husband was a true vocal point for me. Always pushing me to go forward with something that I had never done before but had truly wished to do. Therefore, I can honestly say I never encountered any negative salutations until I made my work open to the public.

Work for me comes in a non-traditional form so it should have been no surprise that negative commentary would follow at times. Although, for me it was especially since at the time I did not know I had expressed any far from traditional wording. Course as time grew on the astonishment lessened and I found myself embracing my rhythm to words.

That's sounds great Eri, I would like to thank your husband for pushing you forward or I wouldn't be here now chatting with you. I know in the time I have known you, you're always pushing others forward and I do admire that and that's one huge thing we have in common, the drive to push others forward, and to achieve what they never knew they could; a lot like me and my situation, but let's not go there...

If you had a chance to run any country and make a difference, what county would it be and why?

I can honestly say I would have no wish to rule any country. I have enough problems running my hermit realm. (lol)

Valuing a trip to far off lands or a state or two over is not something totally foreign to me. Although I much prefer home and my hermit ways. Course even this small island of abode is far beyond me to run (lol). At least completely.... (wicked smile)

'Giggles', I like the sound of being a hermit. The outside world can be a very wicked place at times and so can adobe!! (I'm still learning)

What would you say the worse thing a reader has ever said to you and what was your reaction?

As authors we often share our work with our peers and some time ago it was this other author who tore through me like no other.

After purchasing our books we parted on an even tone and a few weeks later I produced a review for a YA that truthfully was not something I would ever pick up. However, I was trying to show support and move from my comfort reading zone. Therefore I gave her a caring review based on my knowledge of the work that goes into the undertaking of writing. Although, admittedly the series would not be something I would reach for again based on the fact that it is a YA and again not something I would dive into. Course this is something I would not indulge for I do not feel that ill reviews are productive. For me if I found the book totally beyond any completion by my far from perfect eyes, I would just never have reviewed it.

Following my review I received an email from the author who told me they could not do a review for me based on the fact that my writing was far from traditional and although she felt my story line was good did not want to lower my ratings on any review site. I was floored by her response for I had never asked for a praising review. In fact I know that my work is subject to critics, as all our work is. Therefore I never expected a praising review since our genres were very different and was a point I had expressed in the beginning. As well as my far from traditional approach.

I guess the reason it threw me was the fact that I stay clear on one point.... and that is support. We as authors should support each other. This doesn’t mean give a false review but perhaps a helpful insight that can help each other grow....  Ultimately we can never achieve this if we are so quick to tear down the hopes of another.

I understand what you're saying. Constructive criticism is always the best way and anything else has to go over the head. Every author is far from the same, and no matter what there is always going to be critics, nasty ones we can all do with out. There is a way of wording something you don't like without being offensive. Speaking of offensive, Giggles'....

I would like you to vision yourself walking down a busy high street with your partner and suddenly there was a noise that came from his bottom and people turned around looking at you, what would your reaction be and why?

This is not something I have to envision for it has happened to me. (lol) Typically I just keep on walking like I know nothing has happened. (wicked grin)

That has never happened, I must have been eating the wrong foods, sometimes they have to come out. You know what they say; better a empty house than an angry tenant lol

Use only two words that would describe you?

Unorthodox, Driven

Strong morals and beliefs, but yet also fun and outgoing with a soul that's driven to help others! You have picked two great words to describe you.

8, Have you ever been…

A, The owner of a lonely heart

B. The owner of a broken heart

C. None of the above?

If the answer is C, please can you tell the reader how you have done it, I can see the reader would be interested to know that one, I know I am.

If you  are talking about a love of your life feeling then I would have to say C. This is only because I met Jeff, my husband, very early in my life. Therefore I have found myself blessed for the past 21 years.

Now that's the first answer that has been c and you're very lucky that you have not been blessed with those broken hearts, they are very damaging and can leave you with one confused head.... But they make you stronger :)

It's time for a little fun, I would like you to do the rhyme ‘Jack and Jill’. Using your own words and without holding back.

......... < Tapping fingers on the desk isn't going to speed things up, 'Giggles' If you don't know that ryhme then let me help you out...  'Kev's Style'...

Mark and Louie went up to the hill to grab a pint from the pub,

Mark slipped down and broke his crown and Louie got stuck in the mud! 'Just saying' ;)!

know I should stop the Louie Jokes, but I can't help getting it in! No one will understand unless they read my work, it's not a sales pitch... 'Just saying' :)

Where my mind is running on the wicked side here, I would like to ask you...

When you are writing, do you ever think, 'Erm me and my partner did that once, that has to go into the story?

I can honestly say that a blank screen allows me to go where I have never been before. I mean ultimately that is the fun of it for me. (wink)

Blank screens sound great, I wish I had some of them lol
If you could be a Musical instrument, what would you be and why?

An almost silent hum on a breeze. For there is no more beautiful sound that an almost silent song straining to be heard.
Now that's beautiful :) .................................... Sorry I tried that myself then, I was embarrassing the silence then, and you're right, that ten seconds silence was lovely, I'm going to try for twenty seconds now, bear with me ........................................... No!! I didn't make it to twenty seconds, the voices in my head started rowing! I best just continue with the next question and ignore them ;)
If you could change one thing about you as a person, what would that one thing be?
I like who I am so I think I would just change my clothes now and again.... (lol)

I will toast to that. You're awesome and you have no need to change, it doesn't matter to much about your clothes if you're a hermit, I have days where I am in my birthday suit all day with my laptop writing and writing. Them are good days when I can relax and not worry about the world. I haven't had them days for a long time, infact them days only exist when I'm having a bath. I take my hat of towards you :)

I know we all remember our first kiss, would you say Yours was a good experience or a bad one?  Please explain why.

Since I met my husband all the rest have fallen to the waste side.

I don't even know why I asked you that question... 'Slowly giving my head a wobble'.

Do you ever remember a part in your life that’s made a huge impact on you as a person. If so what was it and why?
.........................................................................
Ok I am getting the silent treatment along with a cheeky grin again and rolling back eyes! The answer is your husband isn't it 'Giggles',  lets move on with the last qestion :)

Can you tell the reader about your latest work and also tell the reader where they can find you.

Presently I am working on the Scent Of Power, the second in the Isabella (Izzy) Tulley & Aiden Black Series. This will hopefully be out this coming 2013 summer. Next up is the fourth in the DHC which won’t release until winter 2013.
As always, you can find me on www.dearharts.com, which holds all my social media outlets as well as all my ramblings and book trailers (yeah).

  2. What a great interview!! Congrats, Kevin and Eri. Loved the "unorthodox" tag. :) Can't possibly imagine why. ~giggles~

I commend you, Eri, for your support of indie authors. I think it is amazing how our supporting each other impacts each of our successes. If I see my fellow authors successful it points the way for all of us and to me, simply creates a better path.
